What's Good for the Goose... Part IIIGeese are fully committed to one another. A formation of geese will alter its plans, reschedule its arrival time and inconvenience itself to accommodate any strangers seeking acceptance.Ask yourself if you would do the same. If the answer is yes, then put it into practice. If it is no, then exchange a selfish attitude for a selfless one. Don't be too callous to care or too busy to be bothered. Next time you're feeling down or feel that the world is against you, reach out to another. The Dalai Lama tells us that happiness can be found through exchanging self-centredness for selflessness. Try it. Take time this week to be thoughtful and empathetic towards a colleague, stranger in the street, or even a family member. Your kindness and giving of yourself will do wonders for their self-esteem and self-value, and you will discover just how good you feel in return. ![]() The very awesome Suck it Up video is finally complete. What's Good for the Goose... Part IIU.S President, Jimmy Carter, stated,A strong nation, like a a strong person, can afford to be gentle, firm, thoughtful and restrained. It can afford to extend a helping hand to others. It's a weak nation, like a weak person, that must behave with bluster and boasting and rashness and other signs of insecurity. In the world of geese the aged, very young and infirm are kept protected in the rear of the formation. But they aren't isolated, discounted or considered useless; in fact they fulfill a vital role. They become the "honking section" and cheer for those heading the formation - when the weather is bad or the flight gets tough. It would do us well to consider ourselves as the honking section for others around us, supporting with uplifting words, thoughts and actions. To encourage one another and build each other up, without the desire for something in return, or the need to boast of our own abilities and achievements. Often, we will only enter relationships or interact with others when we feel we will get something out of it for ourselves. A relationship of any form should be somewhere you go to give. Give of your time, your listening abilities and your positive attitude, and you will notice the difference you make to another. ![]() We're moving ahead at a rapid rate, with lots happening coming into Christmas.
